Swedish internet service provider (ISP) Bahnhof is considering powering a data center in Stockholm with a small modular nuclear reactor. The reactor could not only power the data center itself, but also generate enough energy for about 30,000 households in the area.
Local Swedish media report this. Bahnhof CEO Jon Karlung acknowledges to the local SVT Nyheter that the plan is 'provocative', but at the same time also points to the advantages of using such a small-scale nuclear reactor. The company is considering powering a data center under construction in Hjorthagen, a district in the Swedish capital Stockholm, with such a reactor.
